SUCCESSFUL PARTNERSHIP OUTLINE. ONHP AND OMSK REFINERY: 60 YEARS OF SYNERGY!

THE STARTING POINT

Omsk branch of Giproneftezavod State Institute on Designing Refineries (currently PAO OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT (ONHP)) was established in 1953. The decision to establish Giproneftezavod institute branch in Omsk was made due to beginning of Omsk Refinery construction.

Before Omsk Refinery start up such projects were developed and delivered by Giproneftezavod institute Omsk branch as chemical plant along with hydroforming units.

Subsequently the Institute designed such refinery facilities as Crude Vacuum Distillation unit ABT-8, Desalter ЭЛОУ-7, Contact Filtration Unit (42/3), Paraffin Removal Unit.

In 1959 Moscow head research institute Giproneftezavod transferred to the Omsk branch the role of Prime Designer of Omsk Refinery.

In 1980s the institute developed the first draft standards of maximum permissible emissions for Omsk Refinery. Aromatics Complex and feedstock & products complex designed by the institute were also put into operation at the Refinery.

In 1990s the following process facilities were commissioned at Omsk Refinery: Sulfur Recovery Unit and Hydrogen Unit, Deep Oil Refining Complex. These units were constructed based on ONHP projects.

MAJOR STEPS FORWARD

The institute established for Omsk Refinery grew and developed in tune with the times pushing its expertise limits. ONHP acted as Prime Designer for all Russian refineries to the east of the Urals (except for Angarsk Oil Refinery). However cooperation with the Omsk Refinery is especially strong.

ONHP takes an active part in the Refinery facilities construction and reconstruction. Partnership of ONHP and Gazpromneft-Omsk refinery JSC in particular resulted in start-up of 3 MTA Diesel Hydrotreater at Omsk Refinery in October 2012; the facility was designed by ONHP.

It is exactly DHT start-up which enabled Omsk Refinery to switch completely to manufacturing international level Euro-5 Diesel since 2013. It is worth mentioning that such a truly ambitious project was made possible thanks to cohesive work of professionals representing a prominent milestone of Gazpromneft-Omsk Refinery JSC Modernization Program.

60 YEARS OF SYNERGY!

ONHP professional backlog includes more than 3.5 thousand oil and gas facilities. ONHP pushes the limits of its expertise and implements new technologies. Omsk Refinery still remains a major partner for ONHP.

Currently ONHP is implementing a range of projects as part of a large-scale program of Gazpromneft-Omsk Refinery JSC modernization, namely: development of project design documentation and detailed design documentation for the projects as follows: Offsite & Utilities Construction for CDU-VDU, Delayed Coking Unit (DCU) and Deep Oil Refining Complex (DORC), Hydrogen Production Unit, Л-35/11-600 Catalytic Reformer Reconstruction etc.

Let this cooperation continue enriching with new technologies, best practices and professional competences and opening great horizons!
