ONHP dipped into the future of engineering

Engineering of the future was discussed in ONHP

ONHP held VII International Science & Engineering Technology Conference “Engineering. Future Outlook”. In seven years the Conference gained status of efficient interactive arena where oil and gas refinery companies’ representatives and designing companies’ representatives can exchange their experience. During two days ONHP was filled with exciting business atmosphere: heated discussions were held, business matters were discussed and interesting presentations were addressed to the audience. Participants’ works were estimated by experts represented by authorities, business, higher education institutions and science delegates. It was the first time for the Conference to be held at two cities simultaneously: in Omsk and in ONHP’s branch in Saint-Petersburg – Research Engineering Center for Area Development and Maritime Spatial Planning.

 Seventh year in a row ONHP takes on managerial duties and acts as a hosting party of the Conference. ONHP provides young promising engineers from Russian and foreign companies with arena where they come up with projects and scientific research considerations regarding petrochemical and gas chemical branches. This year representatives from Omsk, Moscow, Astrakhan, Kazan, Tomsk, Saint-Petersburg took part in the event; foreign companies from Kazakhstan and Serbia also participated in the Conference.

ONHP CEO, Mr. Igor M. ZUGA, inaugurated the Conference. ONHP Head expressed confidence that for seven years the Conference became a place where many special ideas arise. “Such events give an opportunity to gifted engineers to make a claim about their selves, show skills and exchange experience with people of the same views. It is time to team up in order to find solution for strategic objective of new Russian industrial policy – engineering development”, – said Mr. Igor M. ZUGA.

Deputy industry, transport and innovative technologies Minister for Omsk region, Mr. Igor V. LUKYANOV and Deputy Education Minister for Omsk region, Mr. Vladimir V. TITENKO expressed gratitude to the organizing party. According to the authorities representatives ONHP is a company whose experience shall be passed on. The last-mentioned words touch upon operating process organization and comprehensive approach for engineering personnel training.

The Conference began with plenary meeting. Conference participants say that despite the fact that presentations which were addressed during plenary meeting stood out from the general Conference subject, they set tone for the whole Conference. Mr. Sergey D. MITYAGIN, ONHP chief architect raised a topic of urban planning development strategy in Russia. The President of Strategy Partners Group, Mr. Alexander B. IDRISOV, introduced conceptions of global experts regarding future engineering and construction based on World Economic Forum data.

Did you know?

Construction is one of the most important sectors for society, economy and environment. Nowadays annual income of the branch is $10 trillion and the expected income of 2025 is $15 trillion. Construction industry comes out at around 6% of global GDP (or around 5% of common GDP in developed countries and more than 8% of GDP in developing countries). More than 100 million people are employed in constriction industry around the world:

–      residential space – 38% of global construction volume;

–      transport, energy and water infrastructure – 32%;

–      institutional and commercial buildings – 18%;

–      industrial infrastructure – 13%.

Four years of investments into construction provide +1% of GDP in developed countries and +1.5% of GDP in developing countries.

Participants’ opinions:

Representatives of LLP Atyrau Oil Refinery (Atyrau, Kazakhstan):

-  We take part in the Conference for the second time; our first time was in 2014. It is clear that the event’s level is increasing. We were interested in the plenary meeting presentations. They were up-to-date and made us to think them over. We did not address any presentations but experience exchange is important for us. ONHP cooperates with Atyrau Oil Refinery and it is essential for us to get acquainted with software products which are used for designing. We give thanks to the organizing party for business atmosphere and highly professional participants. We are confident: we will participate in next Conference.

Mr. Esbol R. NURGALIEV, PhD in Technical Science, associate professor of Caspian University of Marine and Inland Water Transport (branch of Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Volga State University of Water Transport), Astrakhan:

– It is my first time in Omsk and my first conference under ONHP direction. I was already said that Omsk and Astrakhan are too far from each other. Despite this fact issues and problems of petrochemical industry are common for our regions. I addressed two presentations within the Conference. I was glad to understand that Conference’s experts are highly qualified professionals. I give thanks them for their work. Thanks to the organizing party for cordial welcome and atmosphere which promoted new ideas.
