PAO OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT (ONHP) requested by Gazpromneft-Omsk Refinery JSC developed a draft project of Omsk Master Plot Plan modifications. The project was reviewed at public hearings in the Department of Architecture and Urban Development of Omsk Administration.
As it was clarified by press relations service of Omsk Administration, area of Omsk city will not be significantly reduced by excluding landfill site from northwest part of the city.
Mr. Andrey MARILOV, Environment Protection Department Head at Gazpromneft-Omsk Refinery JSC explained: “Waste disposal at landfill site was performed from 1975 to 1998. In 2004 reclamation plan of Sibneft-Omsk Refinery OJSC landfill site was developed, later it was updated. Nowadays requirements of environmental legislation changed. According to the new requirements works with waste within residential area are forbidden. That is why landfill site must be located beyond the city boundaries. Consequently it is necessary to change Omsk Master Plot Plan”.
At the next phase draft amendments to the document shall be confirmed in Omsk City Council and reclamation plan shall undergo state environmental expert review at Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage.
