A Meeting Between Hon. I.M.ZUGA And Future Engineers Held In ONHP
School students undergoing summer internship in PAO OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT (ONHP) had a meeting with Hon. Igor M. ZUGA, a Member of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Interim Committee on the Development of the Russian Legislation on Engineering and Engineers’ Activity.
PAO OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT top-management invited the Senator to the meeting with school students. Despite tight schedule caused by the arrangement of Interregional Forum in Omsk Region "Best Municipal Practices: region experience", Mr. Igor Mikhailovich managed to communicate with youngsters who, as they say, are already "making their first steps in ONHP towards a great engineering future".
The Senator got acquainted with students’ achievements, got to know what they have learnt in the course of the internship and even checked their knowledge in exact sciences. In the course of the discussion, Mr. I.M. ZUGA highlighted the importance of profound knowledge in such subjects as mathematics, physics, chemistry (including extra-curriculum classes) for future engineers and mentioned that students should pass Uniform State Exam.
Chairman of the Interim Committee on the Development of the Russian Legislation on Engineering and Engineers’ Activity aimed 9th-form school students at continuous development of intellectual potential, told about the role of engineers in the establishment of competitive state, about steps undertaken nowadays to maintain engineering activity at a state level.
Having obtained a unique opportunity to talk with the Senator, students could have a glance at their future career from a new perspective, understand the importance of profession-selection for the region and for the whole country.
Mr. Igor M. Zuga has been heading ONHP for many years. He was the author of successfully implemented "School-University-Company" program focused on qualified engineering personnel training, which is actively applied in the region and is used by other leading companies. At the last Omsk Forum for Social Innovations conducted with participation of Ms. Valentina I. Matvienko, Chairman of the Council of Federation of the Russian Federation, ONHP “School-University-Company” project aimed at engineering personnel training was highly praised.
