ONHP and Siberian Mechanical Engineering agreed to cooperate

Agreement to cooperate in creating, improving and applying high-tech mechanical engineering products which are predominantly import-substituting for petrochemical industry was signed between PAO OMSKNEFTEKHIMPROEKT (ONHP) and Siberian Mechanical Engineering Non Commercial Partnership. The Signees were Mr. Igor M. ZUGA, ONHP CEO and Mr. Valeriy V. ZHILTSOV, General Director of Siberian Mechanical Engineering Non Commercial Partnership. The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Viktor I. BELOV, Minister of Industry, Transport and Innovative Technologies of the Omsk Region and the Chief Executives and representatives of the leading Omsk industrial enterprises included in the Non Commercial Partnership.

According to Mr. Belov, signing of agreement with ONHP is a milestone historic event for the companies of the whole Omsk Region in general.

- It is now possible for our companies to work directly with the clients. Situation has changed. The market needs custom-made products. We see a lot of enterprises and engineering companies recently appeared in the region which are willing to work in this way, but still have no access to the clients. Agreement with ONHP will enable them to enter the market and announce themselves. In other words, we made engineering and production a single chain. Manufacturers have now an opportunity to produce items tailored to petrochemical complex meeting its needs – said the Minister.

Mr. Igor M. ZUGA, ONHP CEO emphasized that the company considers this event primarily as support of the state policy regarding import substitution.

- Global oil processing and petrochemical licensors and engineering companies have been actively entering the Russian market recently. Moreover, they enjoy access to cheap funds. As a result all this can reduce implementation of new domestic technologies in Russia and lead to the loss of equipment manufacturing competences –said Mr. Zuga. – It is very important to increase the share of domestic production, replace foreign technologies with domestic solutions and develop necessary process equipment production in the region.

The peculiarity of future cooperation between ONHP and Siberian Mechanical Engineering is that it will involve not only large enterprises but will be focused on small and medium business which currently has sufficient skills and certain engineering resources.

- This is our contribution to the economy. Small and medium business is of paramount significance in developing the regional economy, as long as it generates market competition and encourages large enterprises to implement new technologies and innovative developments and to improve manufacturing quality – highlighted Mr. Zuga.
